Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Location: Beaver County (Freedom, Ambridge, New Brighton)
Timeframe: 26-27 school year
Support: YES!
Snapshot: We are seeking a COTA to work full-time (5 days/week, M-F, school hours) with school-age students and preschool students in Beaver County, Pennsylvania!
Job Summary
A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides school-based therapy services to students from preschool through 12th grade under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role focuses on supporting student development in fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional participation in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students (PreK–12) under OT supervision
- Assist in implementing IEP goals and individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school staff to support student success
- Complete required documentation, including:
- Progress notes
- Data collection
- Support for IEP updates and reviews
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed
- Support student development in areas such as:
- Fine motor skills
- Sensory integration
- Activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Travel between school locations during the school day (between assigned districts)
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Active Pennsylvania COTA License
- Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for working with children and helping them reach their full potential
